Katas, Tekki Shodan, Nidan and Sandan........
Tonight although the weather as I write is very frozen, the club trained as usual at the PKA Dojo at Hodgson Academy.
We have been working on the three Tekki Katas within the Shotokan system, not only to grasp the moves, as each one is similar but often confusingly different, but to also to interpret the meanings of the moves in realistic self defence.
As always with Kata, your interpretation may be different to the person standing next to you as we are all different.
This includes the following such as build, age, sex, skill level and so on, however it does make the evening very interesting and exhausting at the same time which is always good.
If you have every fancied Karate and if you live locally to Poulton Le Fylde, why not give it a go and see how this marvelous art can stimulate your mind and body at the same time.
