|The clubs junior section on passing their examination.|
The evening itself was a hot environment due to the weather but equally as it was an IJKA Grading undertaken by Shihan Kato, which is always a difficult and nervous time for club Karateka.
Senior grades were taken through the Bunkai of Kata Heian Nidan whilst the junior Kyu grades were put through their paces of examination.
Later 3rd Kyu grades and upwards went through the Bunkai of Bassai Dai with the great master himself Shihan Kato 9th Dan IJKA, to give a clear understanding of this tough Kata, which means "To Penetrate a Fortress".
